SofTicker Editor's Review

SofTicker is a small but very nice RSS feed reader. You can configure it, just as any RSS feed reader, by adding the feed address to the list (URL) and the program will retrieve the feed name and will check for updates. The RSS reload time can be set from 5 to 60 minutes.

I liked this small application because it will run always on top of your screen as a ticker. You can quickly check all the news' headlines from a source by clicking the right or left arrows on the edges of the program window. On mouse over, the When you click on a headline, a new browser window will open taking you exactly to the selected article.

The program has a list of RSS addresses and you can also add your favorite RSS feed in order to permanently stay in touch with the news in your fields of interest.

Pluses: You can leave the program running and you'll get the latest news one click away.

Drawbacks / flaws: There is no archive and no history. You can't create folders in order to sort your feeds from various fields of interest.

In conclusion: Considering the fact that it's a bit more complex and customizable than the Windows Vista Sidebar RSS Reader, the program gets a medium rating when it comes to features.
